The Display Gallery does have wheel chair access to most exhibits and displays, however there is no wheel chair access into trams and a preserved shelter shed in the gallery. Special stairs are in place to enable access to Tram 29 for visitors with limited mobility. During the off season, visitor groups using wheel chairs can enjoy a double barrelled tram ride at half price.
Access to embarking on, and disembarking from, the operational tram for groups with wheel chairs takes place at a building near the southern end of the tram line and not at the Museum.
If you are involved with a group which may be interested, send us an email with details of likely group size, the number using wheel chairs and a proposed date for the visit and we will respond as soon as possible by email.
