It took over ten years to restore the old tram from a decaying wreck to the condition she was in the 1940s. When you take a ride on her, you ought to sit in either of the end compartments which have been fitted out with copies of the original advertisements that trams like 29 used to carry.
The conductor will give the bell a hearty pull and away she goes, trundling down a kilometre of track at Inveresk - creating a squeaky, rattling and nostalgic experience.
Please don't get off when the tram returns to the Museum as we have a surprise for you. Tram 29 will then fill up with voices and sounds from the past and you can enjoy a second ride, this time a tramride back in time.
